I might be putting too much stock in doing A Photography Day. Any time spent behind the lens (any time enjoyed, I should say) is good, right? I'm going to try going out more often in February, but on smaller trips.
It was particularly overcast and dreary today. A perfect opportunity to see how well "using a mid-aperture telephoto lens for action in low light" works out! I think I would have been able to capture a lot of The Action a lot better were I more experienced; as it is I'm not too pleased with the majority of what I got (even if, as always, the subject was a really good boy). I also wanted to test out the different AF area modes on the D610, which ended up being quite useful for a lot of the more-faster-movement things.
