Crickets are cool. This one, I think, is a Southern Oak Bush Cricket. I'd not noticed before how their compound eyes look like they have lil' pupils. I wonder if they reflect the light in such a way as to make it look like they're looking at you wherever you are in relation to. It certainly seemed that way as I was harrassing this one...
I was on the hunt for a place Chris Buxton had told me about a few weeks ago - a marshy forest with wooden boardwalks. This place (along the Pembrey section of the coastal path) is most definitely not that, but it was interesting nevertheless. A broad expanse of empty field on the opposite side of the grounds of the aerodrome, dotted with cows (and bulls), leading to some quite interesting buildings and structures. Skip to the next bit if you don't like cows.
A lot of these will flit between more natural from-camera colours and those found in Tom Calton's Stamford preset, which I was apparently feeling when going through these. I couldn't decide on a consistent feel, so it's pretty much a complete mixed bag. The grass really was all those different shades of green, I swear...
